“the earth is a sacred vessel of spider webs and the wings of
butterflies. if you try to use it, you will crush it.
if you try to change it, it will shatter.
if you let it go, it will remain useful.
if you leave it alone, it will change for you.
try to possess it, and it will slip from your grasp.”
-Tao Te Ching |

This collection was inspired by the Tao Te Ching, timeless verse that
draws from nature to explain human nature and behavior.
The spider web, as described by the Tao above, is beautiful and
useful, yet extraordinarily fragile.
Observe its beauty – look, but don’t touch.
Touching the web will destroy it.
With these pieces, the artist sought to portray this significant
lesson with a design that also expressed the place of humans within the
web of nature. |
|
| |
Each piece is carefully hand-crafted with fine silver wire using a
crochet technique that the artist uses to also create jewelry.
Silver and semi-precious beads are thoughtfully placed throughout
some of the pieces, representing the functionality of such beauty. |
